Happy February!
I met your Mom at Linda Beale’s son engagement party and oh what a lovely lady! You look so much like her. If I may I need to pick your brain. I need a mother-of-the-bride dress that isn’t one!
I don’t wear long gowns…I would rather a cocktail dress. I’m a size 8 and refuse to pay $1,000 for a dress. My last daughter’s wedding I wore a Ralph Lauren Runway black criss-cross thin strappy back dress cut on the bias. Nothing to it and I got it in San Francisco for $200. Have worn it to three other weddings. Can you give me any hints as to where I can find something unusual that doesn’t look like a typical mother of the bride dress. Wedding is Memorial Weekend in Virginia 2012. Thanking you in advance for any HELP!
Kathy
Hi! nice to meet you!
Here are some ideas…thread design.com is a great site with lots of different choices and very reasonable…J.Crew had some cute things too, sometimes Anthropologie has cute and different dresses…I got a great strapless, colorful party dress there last year! I will think of more thats just off the top of my head. Talk soon!
Thanks so much!! Tried JCrew…dresses are beautiful but too short. I’ll try your other suggestions.
Looking forward to talking with you again.
I went on design.com and it’s home furnishings.
No threaddesign.com! Let me know if that doesn’t work!
OK! Thanks! You and your sister look beautiful!
Thanks!! How’s the dress shopping going?
No good. I have to actually hit the pavement and see what they have. I just HATE mother-of-the-bride crap. I usually fall on something that no one would think of using for a wedding
especially the “Mother” of the bride but I always make it work. If you have any more ideas
I would be more than happy to hear them. Have a great weekend!
Kathy
