True You!

dove win!Go Fresh Products: c/o Dove (Available in MAY!)

From waaay back when I was a little girl sharing bath-time with my sis, I can always remember the scent of Dove in my bathroom (TMI, sorry Laurie!). Anyway, it’s a tried and true brand that has stood the test of time and introduced many new products that I’ve incorporated into my own cleansing routine. This yummy Blue Fig Orange Blossom Body Wash not only cleans, but also uses moisture technology to nourish and soften skin for summer! And, of course, the Classic Beauty Bar now comes in fresh floral scents, too. Dove’s new campaign, Dove Truth Files encourages women to compare Dove’s Body Wash and Beauty Bar with its competition.

Now it’s your turn to “come clean” and reveal your truths to win a DOVE SWAG BAG filled with the Go Fresh Restore Bar, Body Wash and A YEAR’S SUPPLY of the classic Beauty Bar!!!

As part of the Dove Truth Files Campaign,

My family of six only uses Dove soap, so when we get to the last bar in the shower, I hide it until I know we have bought some more. That way I can ensure that I always have my soap!

A compelling truth.. not cheerful, but true: I’m pansexual. (Liking a person for their personality/being, regardless of gender identity) My family doesn’t know and would disapprove to the point of disownment. I broke up with a girl I adored because I didn’t feel it was fair for her to be a secret.

I’ve used Dove since way back as a little girl! Lots of good smelling, clean, and funny memories. I have a younger brother and sister, and when we were all about the age range of 6-9 we shared a bathroom to get ready. My brother at times thought it would be funny to write words and make shapes for us to see on top of the bar of soap when it became soft while running it underwater…needless to say my mom didn’t like the small bits of soap flung around the bathtub wall, but it was still funny; had to share that 🙂
A hidden truth about myself mostly everyone doesn’t “see” is that I actually struggle with facial acne scars from back when I was younger. I had really bad acne, I played sports year-round and it only made it worse, but I wasn’t going to give up what I loved doing, although it made me very self-conscious. I love to draw and paint, and as I grew up I took those skills and learned how to apply makeup in the best ways possible to cover my scars and (hopefully) not cause more acne. I still have acne issues, but not as bad as they were. I’ve seen a couple girls who’ve had extremely bad acne, worse than mine, come out with YouTube videos on how to apply makeup to make it seem like there’s no acne at all (one girl is even a model) – and they are a true inspiration for girls around the world who secretly struggle underneath the makeup.
