Health and fitness are always at the top of my to-do list. From eating right, to nourishing my skin and trying to stay in the best physical condition that I can to stay healthy—Especially NOW! So, when Halo Top asked me to take part in their “stop SHOULD’ing yourself” challenge, I was 100% on board!
This campaign is all about choosing ME and how we need to stop telling ourselves what we SHOULD do and realize what we CAN do to motivate and make it easier to take action, create change, and avoid guilt. And with this healthier cycle comes confidence and self-kindness.
I’ve been a Halo Top fan for years and since I try to choose smart options when it comes to snack-time and sweets, I LOVE that I can feel good about diving into this delish treat!
I’m able to eat more of it and enjoy it, with no shame or judgment, knowing that it has fewer calories, less sugar, and higher protein than traditional ice cream! Halo Top has a variety of diet options (like Keto, and Dairy Free), so they’ve got your back no matter what lifestyle you lead.
With all the challenges we face it’s nice to have these sweet pleasures to look forward to.
So far 2020 has been a tumultuous time and we’ve all been challenged to step up and make some changes in our lives.
It’s all about taking small steps to be better and take action to move forward. From doing our best in quarantine life and staying safe, to contributing to making this world a more inclusive and diverse place, there’s so much evolving that we can all do right now.
I know for me, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed looking at all the things we SHOULD be doing and feel like we are not doing enough or know where to start! Just thinking of where to begin can almost have the reverse effect and paralyze me to do none of it at all!
And if you know me, you know that I’m a DO’er and I thrive on accomplishing what I set out to do. But with SO much sharing and people using this extra quarantine time to “reinvent” themselves, it can sometimes feel like even though we are doing our best, we can’t help comparing ourselves to everyone else’s accomplishments.😔
Instead, we should be celebrating what we HAVE done this far and use that to boost us forward and encourage ourselves to keep going! 🎉
I know that before I’m successful in accomplishing any of my goals, I have to start with making sure that I take care of myself first to keep my health in check to stay strong. Having the right mindset and a plan can help put the wheels in motion.
So I’ve been making it a point to start each day with a balanced routine including a healthy breakfast (usually a spinach/ banana smoothie) with breaks throughout my day for movement (usually yoga and alternating days with a run), work time, and educating myself more about what’s going on in the world and how I can help contribute towards positive change.
Oh, and I can’t forget about snack time! Insert Halo Top strawberry ice cream! It’s delish and guilt free! And always puts a smile on my face. Sometimes it’s these little treats and small pleasures that can help boost our spirits and help bring more joy into our life.
